• The Wayne County Campus of Jones Junior College campus features an LPN lab and offers a Certified Nursing Assistant program.

• The Wayne County Career & Technical Education Center, part of the Wayne County School District, features a Health Sciences program for High School students.

  • Year one introduces students to careers available in the health fied, basic anatomy and physiology, and basic patient care skills.
  • Year two exposes students to advanced skills in the various health occupations and the basic health-care sciences.

Mississippi Offers the following incentive to healthcare providers locating within 5 miles of Wayne General Hospital:

• The healthcare company must create 25 new full time jobs and have a capital investment of at least $10 million
• Incentive Details:
  
  • Accelerated, 10-year state income tax depreciation deduction
  • Sales tax exemption for equipment and materials purchased from the date of the project's certification until three months after the facility is completed
  • 10-year property tax abatement
